People often ask : Should I start paying my ex child support or fight for custody? The answer is- My ex and I have a 14 year old daughter and a 10 year old son. We have never had a custody agreement or a child support arrangement. In fact, before we ever had kids we both believed that court ordered child support was for dead beat dads that didn't take care of their kids. We felt that way because both or our fathers would do very little for us financially outside of paying their support. Both our fathers were poor while our mothers were middle class. Our mothers would complain that the support didn't help much, while our fathers would say that it crippled them.We have gone 10 years without the need for child support or a formal custody arrangement. My children spend various amounts of time with me. When I was away for graduate school, I only saw them every other weekend so I sent their mother 30% of my financial aid every quarter since I wasn't able to be there as often. Now that I'm back in town I pretty much have my son most of the time as he is with me for sports all the time. And our daughter is with her mother most of the time...she's going through that girl (I hate the world & everyone is looking at me) stage. My ex has a 2 year old child and the father is not in the picture and doesn't spend time or support the child at all. Because of this, my ex is asking me to pay child support. While I have no problems supporting my child, I have always had issues with going in front of a judge to have him tell you your responsibility to YOUR child. I didn't have to ask him for permission to make these kids.If we do go to court and I had a certain amount that I had to pay every month, it would severely affect what I'm able to do for my kids. Right now, I have a college fund for them and my ex and I agreed a long time ago that college costs would be my sole responsibility (my ex doesn't believe college is necessary). I maintain wardrobes for my kids at my house as well as buy them clothes at their mom's. I take them on vacations regularly and we have annual passes to Disneyland, and go frequently. My son would like to live with me full time, but I tell him it isn't necessary to do that when I can come pick him up whenever he wants to come...and I see him so often now.I don't want to turn this into a situation where it is me using the law to my advantage- however, I don't feel that we should have to change an agreement that has worked for 14 years. She chose to take the kids full time, as I wanted them full time. We agreed upon that years ago in order to avoid court. Now I feel that she's going to use the law to make up for her other child's father not being there. Also, when we broke up I chose to go to college to better myself and she chose not to. She didn't finish high school (although we met in 12th grade). I don't feel like I should be punished because I chose to better myself through education and I'm able to do more for my kids than I was when we were together. In fact when we were together, I worked while she went to get her nursing license and she was supposed to work while I went back to college, but she wouldn't look for a job and I left her because of it.
The slender length and initially limited exposure of Christmas With Walt Disney belie the rather wonderful archival materials encased in this charming compilation of Yuletide-related materials from throughout the founders lifespan as studio chief. Commissioned by the Walt Disney Family Foundation and playing an exclusive world-premiere engagement through the holidays at the recently christened Walt Disney Family Museum in San Franciscios Presidio, the docu could easily be expanded for DVD or modest further theatrical rollout, though its current shape ensures annual broadcast viability.
Disney and his remaining staff continued the production of the Mickey series, and he was able to eventually find a number of animators to replace Iwerks. As the Great Depression progressed and Felix the Cat faded from the movie screen, Mickeys popularity would rise, and by 1932, the Mickey Mouse Club would have one million members
